Electric Actuators

Rotork

Electric Actuators

High performance equipment to operate valves and sluice gates.

  • Multi-turn models for linear valves such as gate or globe valves.

  • 1/4 turn models for valves with 90 degrees of rotation such as butterfly or ball valves.

It is common to combine a multi-turn actuator with a gearbox to provide a ¼ turn output, or to multiply the output torque of the actuator.

IQ Range

Multi-turn, Torque to 3000 Nm (10 to 2200 lb.ft), On-Off or Modulating service.

IQ Range - State-of-the-art actuator technology for valve automation, incorporates logical intelligence into a robust and reliable package, proven in tens of thousands of installations from Patagonia to Alaska, and around the world. Multiple communications protocols. The first smart actuator, it is the industry standard since 1993.

IQT Range

¼ turn, torque 50 to 2000 Nm (36 to 1475 Lb.ft), On-Off or modulating service

It combines the intelligence and "non-intrusive" concept of the IQ range with the mechanical efficiency of its internal components that provide 90 degree rotation.

This actuator is suitable for all types of ¼ turn valves, and also works with multiple communication protocols.

Other Electric Actuators

We also supply a complementary range of both multi-turn and ¼ turn electrical actuators for smaller valves, or for applications that do not require the high specification of the IQ/IQT Range

RCEL Range

¼ turn, torque 50 to 2450 Nm (37 to 1800 lb.ft), On-Off or modulating service

Line acquired by Rotork in 2008. It incorporates economic ¼ turn actuators with standard manual handwheel, valve position display, irreversible mechanism, IP67 or IP68 enclosure (optional explosion proof), multiple power options. Compatible with most common communication buses.

ROM Range

¼ turn, torque 35 to 650 Nm (25 to 480 lb.ft), On-Off or modulating service

They provide quiet, reliable operation for small 90-degree valves, dampers, and ventilation louvers. They have irreversible direct mechanism, local visual indicators, and manual override.

Q Range

¼ turn, 30 to 406 Nm (22 to 300 lb.ft) torque, On-Off service

A series of single-phase electric actuators designed combining the mechanical efficiency of the A-range with latest technologies to produce compact, reliable, and cost-effective equipment for the control of small 1/4 turn valves.

Pneumatic / Hydraulic Actuators

Pneumatic/Hydraulic Actuators

The Rotork Fluid Systems division product line encompasses

  • Pneumatic actuators (Scotch Yoke and Rack & Pinion) of the ranges P, GP, CP, RC, and R.

  • Hydraulic actuators of the ranges H, GH, and RH.

  • Gas-over-Oil actuators of the GO range.

  • High Pressure Gas Actuators of the HPG range.

Apart from 1/4 turn designs, most of these ranges offer versions for valve applications with linear movements. Many of these actuators are designed for critical applications with high-speed failsafe responses, or emergency shut down ESDs at hostile sites, including underwater applications at depths of hundreds of meters. Approved use in SIL2 and SIL3 safety systems.

CP Range

¼ turn movement, torque 20 to 600,000 Nm (15 to 443,000 lb.ft), On-Off or modulating service.

¼ turn Scotch Yoke pneumatic actuators, cast iron body. Options include double acting cylinder or spring return, hydraulic or mechanical manual override, multiple control configurations.

RC2000 Range

¼ turn movement, torque up to 4400 Nm (38.700 in.lb), On-Off or modulating service.

The RC200 range offers Scotch yoke actuators that provide high opening and closing torques in a very compact package. It is available with double acting cylinder or spring return, and manual override is offered as an option.

GP and GH Ranges

¼ turn movement, direct torque up to 600,000 Nm (443,000 lb.ft), On-Off or modulating service.

The GP (pneumatic) and GH (hydraulic) actuators are of robust and compact design with Scotch yoke that allows two variants: symmetrical yoke for maximum torque in both ends of race; Asymmetric yoke (canted) that allows reducing the size and cost of the actuator, adjusting the torque offered to the demands of the valve. Configurations available with double acting cylinder or spring return.

LP and LH Ranges

Linear movement, thrust up to 560 Ton, On-Off or modulating service.

Compact, high performance equipment with a simple and effective design. Ideal for automating globe valves or sluice gates for On-Off or modulating service. Whether hydraulic or pneumatic, both are available with spring return or double acting cylinder, with optional manual override. They feature electroless nickel-plated cylinders and chromium plated piston rods. Available valve couplings include standard stem or “hammer blow” device. Configurations with double acting cylinder or spring return.

GO Range(Hydraulic Gas)

¼ turn or linear movement, ¼ turn direct torque up to 600,000 Nm (416,670 lb.ft), linear thrust up to 5,000,000 N (1,100,000 lbf), On-Off or modulating service.

Actuators in this range are manufactured in series, unlike other manufacturers that only produce them "on demand". Designed for application in pipelines, they use elements of the robust GH and RH ranges, and have been tested in installations all over the world. They have control configurations to meet virtually any operational requirement. All have manual override and speed control.

Range HPG (direct gas feed)

¼ turn or linear movement, ¼ turn direct torque to 600,000 Nm (416,670 lb.ft), On-Off or modulating service.

They use the same gas from the gas pipeline for operation through a robust Scotch Yoke mechanism. Independent cylinder for manual override ensures complete separation of the pipeline pressure from the hydraulic fluid, and makes it possible to change seals in the power cylinder without disassembling the actuator. Allows manual operation while disassembling the power cylinder. Multiple control configurations to meet virtually any operational requirement. All feature speed control, and dual action cylinder or spring return options.

Electrohydraulic

Electrohydraulic actuators

Rank Skilmatic / EH

The SI / EH range of electrohydraulic actuators combines the simplicity of electrical operation with the precision of the hydraulic control and the reliability of the mechanical action of the Fail-safe with spring return.

Available for both quarter-turn and linear applications. The actuators incorporate sophisticated electronics that allows a non-intrusive commissioning and interrogation through an infrared remote control. They are suitable for on / off, modulation and emergency stop services in applications up to SIL 3.

  • Linear thrust output from 1.7 to 5500kN.

  • A quarter turn with output torque of 65 to 600 000 Nm.
